EXTENSION USED TO & GERUNDS/INFINITIVES



Today we have explained "used to, be/get used to", as an extension to "used to" which appear in unit number one. Following you'll find some interesting links to practise on your own.


Once you've practice  enough, take the online test: 

Besides this, you can also find some exercises to improve your knowledge on Infinitives & Gerunds, which also appear in this unit. You will only be tested on the uses mentioned in the book.
Though, some verbs will be added to the few ones which appear in the book to be followed by a gerund or infinitive.

From the following list of verb+infinitive (green chart), you must study the first twelve verbs. As for the list of verb + gerund (light blue chart), study as well the first twelve.

By the end of the term you must know most of the ones appearing in the list.

Work in pairs and write on paper as many expressions, both formal and informal, you can think of.

NEW TECHNOLOGY'S HERE



Find out about some of the best inventions of the year 2010 according to The Time.

Then, go in pairs and ask your partner the questions on the handed papers. Once you're finished move around the class to do the technology survey. You are requested to hand in your writen final report with the answers of your classmates next Monday, 16th/04.

If we have time left, we will discuss whether you agree or disagree with the statements on the handed paper.
