STARTER UNIT: ADJECTIVES

In the starter unit you will find a revision of  general descriptive adjectives. As you already know from previous years the basic order order of adjectives with in a sentence, find here a document you might find useful, explaining you the order in which adjectives go when several of them appear at the same time in a sentence.

As you usually use mostly the same adjectives all the time, find here a link to a quite interesting web page in which you find a long list of adjectives. If you click in an adjective a new window will pop up with the translation of the adjective as well as a demonstration of its pronunciation. Cool!

FINAL ORAL TEST

In the following link you'll find a List of Functions and their Exponents. Take a look at them so you have a backup when you do your oral test based in the following functions: giving/asking for opinions, suggesting, giving/asking for advice, making/accepting/refussing offers, requesting, asking/giving information-instructions, giving/asking for permission, complaining, apologizing, warning.

The day of the oral test (Thursday 14th/Friday 15th) you will be given a guided dialogue based in one of the above functions, which you will act as a role play with a partner(s). That is why you should take a look at the exponents you can use for each of the above functions.

TALENTED TEENS AT SCENE II

After being delighted with the videos that students in 4th E.S.O recorded and edited for the project "Teen lisieux Bands" last year, you can now enjoy what this year's senior students have done. They all did a great job performing the chosen songs in English and the videos are really original.

Hope you like!

Enjoy your classmates Blanca , Júlia and Belén singing "Accidentally in love", a really  original video nicely performed. Cool!

Let yourself go with this refreshing version of the song "Walking on Sunshine" performed by Marta, Claudia and Yasmine. These three girls really get the sun to shine! Good job!

Party time! Ana, Laia and Júlia make us wanna dance with this catching song "Mambo n.5". A good way to welcome summer time!

Vote for the one you liked best of the three in the left side bar!

EXTENSION CONDITIONALS

In lesson number 7 and 8 of your students books we're reviewing conditional sentences types 1, 2, 3. Zero type, which we alredy took a look at last year, does not appear in the text book. I have thought it would a good idea giving you this Conditionals Chart where you have the four types with their uses and examples.

If any of you have any trouble with forming any of the conditional types find here some practice:

As an extension to conditionals ,we will be taking a look at how to express wishes and regrets.

Today you will be working some exercises on the conditionals 1,2,3. On the same paper you will find Future time Clauses with "when" and "as soon as".
Due date for these exercises is Monday 14th/05.

ANALYSING CHARACTERS

As you all know, you have been requested to hand in (June 1st) an analysis on the characters of the books you're now reading. Besides this, you must choose one  character, or more always that you support your arguments, you fell identify with and tell me why it is so.

Find here ten things you can pay attention to when analysing a character in a book. I also found very interesting the tips given in this web page.

You might find quite useful these "Character & Story Graphic Organizers" to handle your notes on characters. Besides, you can take also a look at this helpful "Sample Character Analysis Paragraph Forms"  as well as this other article on "Guidelines for Writing a Character Analysis Essay" to build up the paragraphs in your essay. I think they can be a good guide to your final paper.
